MX-10130

MX-10130 is a specification for image intensifier tubes for the United States military.
Many different devices are designed to accept MX-10130 tubes, with the most notable example being the AN/PVS-7.
All MX-10130 specifications, and by extension the format itself, are deprecated and have been superseded by the more miniaturized MX-10160 and MX-11769.
General features of a MX10130 are as follow:
- 43mm outer diameter, larger than a MX10160/11769
- Uses groove along the full length of the tube for alignment instead of a notch like MX10160/11769
- Non inverting
MX10130 Variants
MX10130 format tubes come in two main varieties, the 7A/C type and the B/D type. The 7A type is recognisable by only have two plated holes for power delivery, while the latter has both the plated holes and elongated contact pads on the screen side of the tube.
A 7A type tube will fit in a 7B/D housing, but will not power up as the pogo pins in the housing will just be pressing against plastic.

A 7B/D type is backwards compatible and will fit and work in a 7A housing, though it may not allow the objective lens assembly to be fully installed without removing the three plastic tabs present on the back of the tube.
