Infiray Jerry-F with mount and battery pack

The Infiray Jerry-F (also referred to as F-ENVG, standing for Fused Enhanced Night Vision Goggles) is a fused night vision and thermal monocular produced by Infiray.

Fused systems like the Jerry-F are an attempt to improve upon the combination of night vision devices and clip-on thermal imagers by providing a complete package.

The Infiray Jerry-F housing weights 372 g and has a waterproof certification of IP67. Also it comes with its own mounting system (239 g) and a external battery pack which is not compatible to other devices.

The lenses used for night vision component aren’t as good as mil-spec lenses on established devices like the PVS-14.

The built in thermal sensor has a resolution of 640 x 512 pixels (12 μm). A 16mm thermal lens diameter with adjustable focus has a FoV of 25,8° x 19,1° where the analog image has 40°.

For fused operation it has four thermal-modes where the color scheme can be changed. It also features a full thermal mode if image intensification isn‘t required.

Fusion analog modes and color settings:

The brightness adjustment knob for the thermal have different uses for all modes.

-Outline-mode (orange/white-hot) knob stays for brightness/outline intensity

-Highlight-mode (orange/white-hot) knob stays for brightness

-Breath-mode (orange/white/black-hot) knob changes breath speed 0-100%

Thermal mode and color setting:

-Orange/white/black-hot knob stays for brightness

-x1 and x2 zoom

The Jerry F has 3 push/turn and knobs which cover all functions.

The button on the inputs/objective side can be turned counterclockwise and gives a "click" feedback.

This switches on the thermal imaging module and if turn further, it controls the brightness of it at the same time.

A short press changes the thermal image colors: (orange/white/black-hot) and a long press takes it to the menu.

The top button on the output/eyepiece side solely controls the IR reading light with a clockwise toggle.

The bottom knob on the outputs/eyepiece side contains most of the controls and is for turning on the analog image intensifier with a clockwise turn giving a "click" feedback, further turning simultaneously controls MGC/analogue brightness.

A short press with the thermal module switched on (Fusion modes), changes between the Fusion modes: (Outline, highlight, breath), a long press calibrates the sensor manually to the environment.

If the button is switched off while the thermal module is switched on, it immediately switches to full thermal mode where a short press in that mode controls zoom (x1/x2) for thermal imaging mode.

Menu settings:

There isn’t much to change in settings.

  1. Outline modes line intensity
  2. PAL video output
  3. Switch on/off HUD with battery indicator, compass and other indicators
  4. Calibrate compass
  5. Exit

The battery life during fused operation is over 8 hours while the image intensification without thermal extends battery life to over 60 hours.

The housing allows manual gain control and features an adjustable diopter and a built-in IR illuminator.
