In April 2024, vendors selling products from Carson Industries have received a cease-and-desist letter from a company called Carson Optical who allegedly acquired all rights to the name "Carson". The lenses are considered to be some of the best available on the market, featuring minimal distortion and high clarity.

Other manufacturers producing [[AN/PVS-14]] housings or devices (such as made [[Elbit Systems Of America|Elbit Systems]], [[L3Harris]], [[ACTinBlack]], and others) use lenses produced by Carson.

The front lenses have a multi-coat treatment which reflects light of distinct colors.
