A: In the visual editor, in the top bar, go to ''Insert'' → ''Images and media''. If you don't want to bother with adding the image to a page, or the page doesn't exist yet, you can find a link [[Special:Upload|''Upload file'']] in the left sidebar that you can use to upload a picture without adding it to any page yet. This way, other users can add it to a page when suitable.
